Displaying graphics in e-mails

For security reasons, many current e-mail programs block the display of images in e-mails. To have them displayed, they must either be enabled manually and individually for each e-mail or the e-mail client must be set to display all graphics from a trusted sender automatically.

To do this for LUMITOS’s newsletter, please follow the instructions below:

Thunderbird

Thunderbird refers to blocked images in a yellow alert box with a text like “To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message”.
Click the “Settings” button within this box
Now click on “Always load remote content from <mail adress>”
The address of the sender contains the @ character. For the LUMITOS’s newsletters, these addresses are:
- de: chemnews@mail2.chemie.de
- com: chemeuropenews@mail2.chemie.de
- com: bionitynews@mail2.chemie.de
- quimica.es: quimicanews@mail2.chemie.de
From now on, the images contained in the respective newsletters are automatically displayed.

Outlook

Outlook refers to blocked images in a red box with a text like: “Some pictures have been blocked to help prevent the sender from identifying your computer. Click here to download pictures”.
In the menu that appears, click “Add to list of trusted senders” or similar.
From now on, the images contained in the respective newsletter are automatically displayed.
