LUMITOS introduces greatly improved newsletters
Berlin, 28 January 2016 – With the new year getting under way, there is great news for all those who look for up-to-date news and information from the chemical, life sciences and analytics industries: the newsletters of LUMITOS’ industry portals have been completely overhauled. As before, they feature current industry trends and developments brought straight to subscribers’ desks. Now the reading experience has become even more enjoyable, thanks to a clearer structure of the content and the layout, with a more spacious arrangement and appealing images.
“The expectations of our readers as well as technical requirements are constantly in a flux,” is how Dr Björn Lippold, Chief Content Officer at LUMITOS, formerly CHEMIE.DE, explains the challenge to further develop customized information solutions for industry professionals. “The usage habits of our readers have changed. The newsletters they read are much more often accessed from mobile devices.” This is why LUMITOS has now developed newsletter versions specifically for mobile devices. They can now be read conveniently out and about on smartphones and tablets.
Right from the start of the redesigning process, LUMITOSE involved its users: “We began our project earlier in order to involve our readers actively in the development of the new newsletter,” explains Dr Björn Lippold. After evaluating reader expectations, we set up a comprehensive concept. A beta version of the redesigned newsletter was presented to a selected group of users. This prototype was then further improved on the basis of the feedback received.
Since January, all 65,000 readers of LUMITOS’ newsletters have been able to see and appreciate the result. “I really like the new layout because it’s easier to get an overview,” was among the first reader responses, as was “Great that it starts with the industry news, which readers find the most interesting” and “Tidied up and thus easier to read. In short, more reader-focused! Well done!”
